Author Rose Impey visits Oakthorpe
On Monday 3rd March 2014 we were delighted to welcome children's author Rose Impey to work with all children across the school as part of our World Book Day celebrations. She really inspired all the children to think about the characters they use in their stories and how best to have an impact on the reader.
She also inspired us by reading some of her stories to use and talking about how the first thing she does when she writes a story is to think about the voice of the character. A great tip!
She was fantastic to listen to when she told her stories. There were a few jumps from Year 3 and 4 when she was reading one of scary stories!
Which is your favourite Rose Impey story?
