The whole school have been inspired by the work of artist Henri Rousseau. They have used his work to help to master our own art techniques. Across the week we have been working with our House teams to develop our different techniques including layering, printing and paper folding to name but a few.
The Learning Council were very impressed with the learning behaviours they saw on their learning walk. Everyone was working together to help evaluate the techniques and decide what should be included on the finished canvas. The children's sketchbooks show an amazing learning journey.
Rousseau's Surprised! inspired us to make our own jungle themed layered canvas using the techniques we had mastered. We are hoping to visit the real painting in London when Key Stage 2 go on their trip to see the Lion King!
