Faiths week - an opportunity to explore beliefs and values

What an amazing week of deep reflection about ourselves and others' beliefs and values. It has been lovely this week to see children totally immersed in questioning, reflecting and discussing what different people believe or don't believe. Truly respectful responses from some of our youngest children in exploring the biggest of ideas. It was great to have the Phillips centre with us with visitors from Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and Sikhism, allowing the children to question and compare the similarities and differences between them. It was lovely also to welcome a lay preacher from 'Open The Book' into school for a real interrogation by year 4 about their faith in Christianity and what they believed about God. It really was simply breath-taking to hear.
