“Working together to develop a community where everyone is valued and children become confident and successful learners.”

French day of learning at Oakthorpe

Everyone has had a great time today with a themed French day about Mardi Gras (our slightly earlier than pancake day version!)

Thank you to Madam Leach our resident teacher of French for helping to organise the day. The children spent time learning French songs, making crepes, reading their newly arrived letters from penpals in France, researching France and creating masks and a dragon for the Mardi Gras parade.

Thank you to parents for making such a spectacular effort with outfits! It really did make the day very special. It was great as well to see so many of you join us for our Mardi Gras parade around the village! We may have lost bits of our wonderful dragon along the way but it did survive and we will display it somewhere in school!
