This week, it was an absolute pleasure to take our Key Stage 2 children to the Open Centre in Derby which gave the children the chance to visit a Sikh Gurdwara, a Hindu Temple and a Muslim Mosque. All the children were so respectful and asked some really insightful questions. The adults that came with us on the trip really enjoyed learning about other cultures too.
This is a really important part of our RE curriculum. Our RE curriculum is agreed by representatives from all faiths and no faith. It is designed to help children to recognise diversity in our community ad to respect each other for what we believe. Teachers are always happy to speak with children or parents about any questions they have about different religions. We really appreciate your support with this important aspect of British Values.
