5th June 2026 - Our incredible Year 5 debate team represented us before half term at Three Trees Academies for the Great British Debate- they spoke with great articulation and confidence. They scored 3rd place out of 14 teams and we are so proud of them.

15th May 2026 - Explorers loved having Paddington to visit last week. He showed lots of Oakthorpe Spirit and was an excellent guest.

14th May 2026 - Creators have been very scientific this week, securing their knowledge of materials and their properties. Their investigation today helped them test which materials were waterproof/absorbent and which weren’t. They used some excellent scientific vocabulary to help them explain their findings and unanimously concluded that plastic bags were definitely not absorbent!

14th May 2026 - Some excellent use of atlases in Innovators class as well as fantastic partner work.

13th May 2026 - Our Explorers have been thoroughly enjoying their learning about plants, DaVinci’s ‘Sunflowers’ and all things Hungry Caterpillar. They are taking great pride in their writing and showing off their fine motor skills with their art work.

12th May 2026 - Creators had an amazing time scootering along last week!

12th May 2026 - Innovators have been loving their recent art learning. They have looked at light and how they can use sketching and shading to create the same effects. They have just finished off their mosaics and they look beautiful!

17th April 2026 - Creators were in the element during Forest School on Friday. They used magnifying glasses to explore some of the changes since their last visit into the Spinney.

14th April 2026 - Our 5/6 orienteering event before the holidays was great fun. Pioneers did some excellent map reading and managed to score well with the points they found!

2nd March 2026 - Today, Innovators explored Still Life art. They looked at different line techniques along with a range of artists and their art

2nd March 2026 - Yesterday we launched our Book Week activities with a live lesson from famous author, Michael Rosen. We heard some fantastic stories from a range of authors and had a go at drawing along too!

2nd March 2026 - A wet and windy forest school session for Creators class last week. Some lovely natural self-portraits were created!

2nd march 2026 - Winter Olympics before half term was a great success! Children worked with their house teams and took part in a range of events. They showed great spirit of the games and worked very well in their teams.

9th February 2026 - Explorers were doing a fantastic job in PE last week. They built up their jumping skills and really thought about how they could land and balance.

5th February 2026 - Innovators were joined by parents this morning to share their hard work using TT Rockstars. So many have improved their multiplication knowledge and built up their rock status!

5th February 2026 - Pioneers enjoyed their forest school last week with the addition of s’mores.

29th January 2026 - The weather outside has been matching our Explorers provision recently - I think we’re going to have to ask them to order some sunshine next!
