We're always busy at Oakthorpe and we try and capture our special moments as often as we can. Please take a look through our gallery to see some of the amazing things we have been getting up to.
2024-2025
Friday 11th April 2025 - A great Easter trail arranged by our PAFO!
Friday 11th April 2025 - A wonderful assembly from our Innovators today. They spoke about their learning with great enthusiasm and articulation - well done!
Friday 11th April 2025 - Thank you to Measham C of E EYFS for bringing a very special visitor today! The Tiger Who Came To Tea is visiting all of the Rise Multi Academy Trust schools. We were so pleased that our visitors came to see us and we are looking forward to taking care of the Tiger! 🐯 ☕️
Friday 4th April 2025 - Taste testing smoothies for their DT project today. It was a thumbs up all round for banana and apple!
26th March 2025 - A wonderful afternoon celebrating the special women in our lives. Our children performed some lovely poems, sang a special song and then invited their grown ups back to complete some crafts. Thank you to everyone who came, we really enjoyed having you!
20th March 2025 - Explorers have been refining their observational drawing and painting skills. These beautiful sunflowers have certainly brightened up a cloudy afternoon and show some great skill in printing, drawing and colour matching. Well done, Explorers!
7th March 2025 - Our Well-being Councillors completed their 6R and Learning behaviours walk this morning. They spotted their peers doing some excellent learning, great reciprocity alongside responsibility for their learning. Well done!
5th March 2025 - Book and a brioche on Wednesday morning was a huge hit! We were so pleased to welcome so many parents to this session and to see such lovely reading experiences.
3rd March 2025 - A great way to kick off Word Book Week with designing our very own book bags. Some beautiful designs to show off our favourite books!
13th February 2025 - Some amazing art work completed this week. Our Innovators were very creative with their perspective creations. Our Pioneers were challenged to really explore proportion in order to create their clay figures. We also can’t discuss art without sharing the incredible homework created by one of our Year 6 children; inspired by the Renaissance artists!
13th February 2025 - Our cross country team did us very proud at the last event of the year!
20th January 2025 - We’re getting very active this January! Our Creators have been learning about different ways of moving and they have been very creative in their partner work. Our Explorers have been all types of ‘beans’ today, as well as tip-toeing up the beanstalk and racing back down before they wake the giant!
20th January 2025 - A wonderful selection of learning from across last week and today. Our Innovators have been putting their Geography skills to the test and are creating booklets to showcase their learning in ‘UK changes over time’. They’ve also been using their skills in imagery to engage their reader in their short writing burst on Friday: they sure know how to get you hooked in.
Our Pioneers have been putting their multiplication and division skills to the test with their percentages learning last week.
A little bit of poetry from our Explorers who are trying incredibly hard with using their sounds and perfecting their handwriting. Well done guys!
2nd December 2024 - It was so lovely to welcome our families into school today for our bauble workshop. The children created some beautiful baubles and were very excited to hang them on the tree!
28th November 2024 - Owl babies is one of my very favourite stories and our Explorers love it too! They are going to love the new set up for their small world and story house!
28th November 2024 - Something interesting is happening over at our Oakthorpe library- whatever could our librarians be up to? Stay tuned to find out!
14th November 2024 - Today we have been highlighting the British Value of Democracy today and voting for our new Anti-bullying Ambassadors. The children who have put themselves forward have all spoken very confidently about why they would like to help other children and I can’t wait to announce the winners tomorrow!
11th November 2024 - Lest we forget- Oakthorpe wanted to show their respect during a two minutes silent reflection time. Our youngest children also showed us their creativity by representing the poppy in their own ways.
6th November 2024 - Our Explorers and Creators were doing a smashing job with their phonics yesterday. The children love doing their sounds searches and are working very hard with their blending.
1st November 2024 - An enormous ‘well done’ to this super star today! Miss G always shows STAR behaviours and has incredible Oakthorpe spirit. This award is very well deserved as she tries her best every day, showing great resilience, determination and positivity.
1st November 2024 - Our Creators just love to read, so when they asked if they could bring their parents in to show them we said ‘of course!’. Our new weekly reading session is going to be such a hit!
20th September 2024 - Our wonderful new Well-being Council have had their first meeting today. To say they are enthusiastic is an understatement and I can’t wait for them to get stuck into some of the projects they have already thought of!
Well-being Council
5th September 2024 - Mastering Me is always my favourite week in school. Last week, our pupils tested their resilience as they ascended the climbing wall! They all amazed us with their enthusiasm and energy to try something new, challenge themselves to go higher and in how they helped their peers!
