Christmas 2020 kicked off with an exciting trip to Bretby Garden Centre to take part in ice-skating. Mrs Culpan also set the children the challenge of making products to sell at Oakthorpe's Christmas Market. The children came away from the trip full of excitement and ideas. 

Our performance - A Magical Christmas Jigsaw

Our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children always perform a Christmas play, and each year they blow us away with their amazing singing and ability to remember so many things! This year was no different as all of the children showed great resilience in learning their lines and stage directions, as well as looking fantastic in their costumes!

Oakthorpe's Christmas Market

Each class was given the challenge of creating their own products to sell at a Christmas Market this year. The children held their stalls in their classrooms and they all looked incredible and full of Christmas Joy! 

Santa Visit

We were so very lucky that on Tuesday, we had a special visit from Santa Claus! Even though he is so busy at the moment, he kindly found time to pop in to see us and talk about Christmas. The children were very surprised to see him and had lots of questions about his elves and his reindeer. Santa was very clear that the children needed to be in bed early and fast asleep on Christmas Eve!

Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day

The children always enjoy their Christmas dinner as they can sit and relax while their teachers fetch their dinner for them. The tables were set with decorations and the children looked great in their jumpers.
